What should the Fourth Option be?

CCSD tried to present their three options to the District 20 Community tonight. They goofed right from the start when they attempted to give Wilmot Fraser a police escort out. That sums it up. CCSD is so disconnected with our community, they haven't a clue as to who he is. Mr. Fraser simply put a motion on the floor and they refused to change the agenda.

We've seen your options, CCSD. There are NO options for Fraser Elementary, Charleston Progressive, or the Charter School for Math and Science. We knew that and we didn't need you wasting our time. Tonight was our turn for you to LISTEN to us. The community hung in there and waited for their voices to be heard. The consensus was the need for better options. Yet, what should they be?

It's hard to judge, when the school district hasn't provided the basic facts to work with. (At least, I haven't seen them - they certainly weren't handed out at the meeting at Burke last night.)

For each school in D20:

a) what is the capacity?
b) what is the enrollment?
c) what percentage of the current students live in D20?

Don't lump it all together - itemize it school by school.

The school district has shown its dishonesty in proposing to move the Math & Science charter school to Archer, a building that isn't nearly large enough to accommodate it. It's like suggesting that Burke move to Archer. Clearly, Nancy McGinley wants to kick CCSMS out of school district property - she just doesn't have the integrity to come right out and say so.

Oh, and I forgot: what did you think of Michael Bobby's condescending explanation of economics of scale? He couldn't have made it any plainer that he thought he was talking to morons.

CCSD: Condescension is our standard.
